Auzolle Orthese Prothese is testing the SQY Foot with OTTO BOCK Genium and 3R85 femoral prostheses

How does a prosthetic foot perform when transitioning from dry land to water, on uneven terrain, and during sports activities? This was the objective of our test day at Lac de Baudreix, organized in partnership with Lionel Auzolle from AOP: to test the SQY Foot in real-life conditions and gather feedback from users equipped with prostheses featuring the Otto Bock Genium knee and Otto Bock 3r85.

The day began at 9:00 am in the AOP workshop, with introductions and a quick coffee before everyone was fitted with the SQY Foot.

Developed by SQY Innovations, this K3 Foot combines an encapsulated carbon fiber blade with a waterproof design, offering mobility, stability, and comfort in various environments.

Once everyone was ready, we headed to Lac de Baudreix.

Entering the water

The first major moment was entering the water. Participants quickly noticed the lightness and buoyancy of the foot while swimming. But the real surprise came upon exiting: water drained naturally from the foot, making the transition from lake to beach quick and easy.

Stability, agility & barefoot sensation

Back on dry land, an agility course put the stability and flexibility of the foot to the test. The inversion/eversion movement of the SQY Foot allows adaptation to uneven surfaces, while participants particularly appreciated the comfort provided by the barefoot sensation™, giving them a sense of security underfoot.

An active afternoon

After a well-deserved lunch, the afternoon continued with badminton and volleyball. Quick changes of direction and dynamic movements offered a new perspective on the mobility, stability, and ultra-lightweight design of the SQY Foot in a fun atmosphere.

The day ended with water slides, where the waterproofness and anti-slip technology of the SQY Foot stood out. Participants were especially impressed by the grip when walking on the wet dock.

Sharing the experience

We wrapped up the day with a drink and an informal debrief, allowing everyone to share their impressions.

From swimming to agility, from sports to slippery surfaces, this test day allowed participants to see how the waterproof design, carbon fiber technology, stability, and mobility of the SQY Foot translate into real-world situations.

More than just a product trial, it was a day marked by freedom of movement, discovery, and listening to the users of the SQY Foot.
